Risk profiling Risk profiling and risk assessment are key to relating the investment advisor’s/portfolio manager's investment universe to that of the investor. Without expertise in risk profiling, systems cannot be developed, advisors cannot fully educate and investors’ aversions and expectations cannot be managed. TAMRIS was one of the first to develop risk profiling and risk assessment techniques that directly related the structure of the portfolio to the size and timing of an individual's personal financial needs. It was also one of the first to develop risk profiling and assessment techniques that enabled asset allocation and investment style to be tailored to an investor's own performance risk preferences. This is one of the most important areas of the wealth management process and one of the least understood. TAMRIS would like to see much better standards for risk assessment in the industry and greater investor education resources for the private investor. For further information on TAMRIS expertise please see the technical documents on the weaknesses of retail risk assessment and the educational and information resources in this site. |
